If I donate, how will my contribution be used?
CLICK HERE to learn WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE DO I am only interested in National or State candidates and issues. Why should I help the local Manheim Area Democratic organization? Tip O'Neill, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, is often quoted as having said "All politics is local". The local Manheim Club and Committee are an extension of the Lancaster County Democratic Committee and our elected Manheim Central Committeepersons are a part of the official Democratic Party of America. Without the local Committee and millions of others like us nationwide, there would be no "Democratic Party". Our support extends to all Democratic candidates at all levels. The local Manheim Central Committee provides an essential service which no other level of the party serves and is essential to candidates at all levels. We oversee and monitor the voter lists and polling place activities to ensure that the election process is legal, fair and non-partisan. Without the local committee diligence, County, State and National candidates would have no assurance of a fair chance. Imagine the results we would get from Republican Lancaster County if there were no Polling place Democrat watchers with the courage to look out for the Democratic voters and candidates. What donation amount is considered appropriate? We are not primarily funded by big business donors. All of our workers, committee people and local leaders are non-paid volunteers. We depend upon small contributions from the average citizens that we represent. ANY DONATION AMOUNT is greatly appreciated and will help the total effort. Will my contribution be tax deductable? Political contributions are NOT deductable as charitable contributions for Federal Income tax purposes. What are the citizen requirements for making political contributions? In order to make a political contribution, you must be at least 18 years of age and be a US citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident. |
